The working title for the conference is “Teaching: A Profession in Transition”. The following themes are those we might wish to explore.

  • Teacher wellbeing
  • Promotion of the teaching profession
  • International mobility
  • The changing nature of the teaching profession
  • Alternative pathways into teaching, inc. vocational pathways
  • Registration of other education professionals, inc. early years
  • The changing governance environment

The conference organisers would welcome your suggestions for any other themes you feel the conference should explore in the keynotes and/or workshops. Also, we would welcome any suggestions you have on potential speakers and workshop leaders.

Please email Kenneth Muir directly with any suggestions or if you wish to discuss further any aspect of the conference. (ken.muir@gtcs.org.uk) The conference organisers plan to have the next tele-conference mid-January 2019 so it would be helpful to have your thoughts and suggestions before the end of December.
